EVENT CALENDAR

Canada Pension Investment Board Public Meeting

The Canada Pension Investment Board (CPPIB) hosts meetings in each province every two years, and the Alberta meetings are coming up in April! These meetings are a great opportunity for workers and retirees to get accurate information about their CPP savings directly from the experts who manage the fund, especially in the current climate of misinformation surrounding the CPP.

Edmonton’s meeting starts at 6 PM on April 17th, at the TIMMS Centre for the Arts at the University of Alberta! Register for the event HERE!

JOIN CUPE IN SUPPORT FEDERAL PHARMACARE

On February 13, CUPE joined the Canadian Health Coalition, and other unions and allies, at a rally and lobby day on Parliament Hill, in Ottawa. We were there to protest the continuing privatization of health care and to re-state our demand for universal public pharmacare plan for all.

Under confidence and supply agreement they signed with the NDP, the Liberals have promised to introduce a pharmacare bill by March 1, 2024. There is reason to be hopeful that we are on the path to making universal public drug coverage a reality.

We need your help to make it happen by promoting this appeal to MPs to your membership.

Nearly three million people in Canada can’t fill their prescriptions because they can’t afford them. Together we can change that.

Do your part, send a letter to your MP and encourage your members to do the same.
