Worried about cuts to our kids’ schools?
We are too.
Every child needs support at school. Kids face a lot of challenges. When they can get frustrated or overwhelmed, or when they need a helping hand, it’s important that it’s there for them.
That’s what we do. That’s why we’re here – educational assistants, library workers, food services staff, secretaries and other support staff in Edmonton’s public schools. We help make every school day a better day.
But Jason Kenney and the UCP don’t get it. If they cut funding for Edmonton’s schools, it’s not just us who will be cut. All of our kids will suffer.
Cuts to student supports will mean:
- Less support for each child – and less individual attention
- Bigger class sizes – and a bigger risk of falling behind
- Fewer education professionals to help kids in our classrooms, libraries, and cafeterias
- More worry for parents
Alberta’s families deserve better. We need more support workers throughout the school day to be there for our kids.
