What if I have recently travelled?

Albertans travelling internationally must follow federal border measures and quarantine laws – for all international travellers entering Canada. For more information on travel, testing, quarantine and borders, see COVID-19 travel requirements. 

For travel during the school year requiring an isolation period, quarantine time needs to be considered as part of your pre-approved vacation time or as an approved unpaid leave. This is required for all staff who are returning from travel, including those who may be providing online instruction, as staff need to be available to work on-site, as needed, during scheduled working days.

For temporary staff, quarantine time needs to be considered as part of the pre-approved vacation time or as an approved unpaid leave. 

For supply staff, ensure you block out your availability during your isolation period.
