The latest updates from Parkland Institute

Hi Friend,

Today we talk about two new blog posts —and also remind you of our favourite social event of the year!

Blog post: Better Way Alberta
Recently, Parkland Institute had the opportunity to work with our friends at the Alberta Federation of Labour, Public Interest Alberta, and Friends of Medicare on a campaign called Better Way Alberta. In this blog post, Ricardo Acuña talks about the campaign and the five short reports that Parkland Institute produced for it. Links to the reports are included in the blog.

Blog post: What Was She Thinking?
The most in-depth glimpse into Premier Smith’s thinking on a range of critical public policy issues is contained in a 20-page paper entitled “Alberta’s Key Challenges and Opportunities.” In this blog post, Bob Ascah takes a closer look at the document to provide insight into the premier’s thoughts on fiscal policy and health care.

Two days until our Open House—please RSVP!
Join us this Thursday for an evening of good cheer and great conversation with Parkland staff, board, volunteers, and friends. As always, there will be food to be had, drinks to buy (at our by-donation cash bar), and friends old and new to mingle with. The event will take place from 5 to 9 pm in room 4-29 of the Humanities Centre building at the University of Alberta. Please RSVP through the link provided below; RSVPing is not required, but it would be greatly appreciated as it helps us with our planning.

And, finally: December is fundraising month at Parkland Institute! Please consider making a special one-time donation today. Donations received by December 31 will be acknowledged with a 2022 tax receipt by the University of Alberta.

Yours for a better Alberta,

The Parkland Team
