To all support staff:
We are trying our best to respond to our members during the frenzy that is happening right now! All that we can say right now about most of the questions coming in are “We don’t know – we have no information or answers.”
So far Edmonton Public Schools say they are following direction from Alberta Health re school closures.
Our questions to administration are:
1. pay for support staff for self isolation
2. pay for support staff for quarantine
3. pay for support staff if schools close
4. the right to refuse unsafe work
5. accessing vacation time
6. what medical documentation will be required
As of the writing of this message, we do not have answers to these questions from Administration.
Administration has sent communication about District messages for COVID-19 to principals.
Until then, adhere to universal protocols regarding personal contact.
As soon as we have answers, we will let everyone know.
